MedStar VNA Operations Directors make a positive difference in people’s lives by leading a team of nurses, therapists, social workers, and home health aides who help patients heal and regain independence at home. They oversee high-quality homecare services for patients within a set geographic region. This is an ideal position for a registered nurse with strong management, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
Provides clinical and managerial direction to a team of nurses, therapists, social workers, and home health aides who care for patients in a set geographic region.
Participates in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and retention of staff.
Ensures direct reports comply with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Manages financial and clinical outcomes for all patients on their clinical team through the use of appropriate reports and ongoing monitoring of established metrics.
Maintains effective working relationships with other departments and participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in meetings and on committees for performance improvement and to develop policies and procedures based on program development and/or needed operational changes.
Provides good customer relations by maintaining open, timely communications with patients, associates, physicians, patients’ primary referral facilities and other community resources.
Works collaboratively with all MedStar VNA leaders to improve patient satisfaction and associate satisfaction.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: Valid RN or PT license in Maryland.
EDUCATION: BSN or an equivalent combination of education and experience required for RN candidates. Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required for PT candidates.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year progressively responsible managerial experience in home healthcare managing multidisciplinary teams; Current employees may qualify based on 3 years of field experience with MedStar Health VNA in combination with educational requirements.
SKILLS: Extensive working knowledge of reimbursement and regulatory guidelines. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to apply sound principles of management and supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication. Basic computer skills preferred.
