MedStar Eye Physicians located in Charlotte Hall is currently
seeking a full time highly skilled ophthalmology technician to join our
team! We are a fast paced ophthalmology office with two locations and 4
providers who specialize in cataract, retina and glaucoma diseases of the
eye. This position is Monday Friday, no weekends or holidays! We

Job description – Under moderate
supervision performs visual testing of patients for detection of eye disease,
obtains patients histories and performs diagnostic testing. Requires
certification as; Certified Ophthalmic Asst., Certified Ophthalmic Technician
or Certified Retinal Angiographer.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates
degree in related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience as an Ophthalmic Technician. 5
years experience as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: COT (Certified Ophthalmic Technician) or COA
(Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) certification required or obtain certification
within 1 year. CPR certification required.
SKILLS: Technical skills associated with assuring the appropriate
performance of all emergency equipment utilized. Ability to recognize and
remain calm during emergency situations. Ability to obtain, analyzed and
prepare data from various patients. Ability to anticipate physician/patient needs.
Analytical ability to identify and resolve clinical problems. Ability to
express ideas clearly through verbal and written communications. Mathematical
ability to perform required calculations. Basic computer skills preferred.
